Gift night!

Uncle Wad gave the kids one of my favorite gifts this Christmas . . . the gift of time.  Tonight was Gracie's turn and he had planned for them to go out to dinner downtown.   He surprised her first by taking her for a manicure, which of course she LOVED!    She chose a lovely shade of blue polish, which amused her uncle to no end.  Then they went to eat at Adele's, an awesome restaurant in the Gulch.   He is a regular there, so he knows the best things on the menu and Gracie tried them all, plus a hot fudge sundae for dessert.  She was amazed by the fact that the restaurant was not very crowded when they got there, but by 8:30 it was packed.   I suppose at 8 years old you can't imagine that people want to eat that late since you are usually in bed.
She came home little before 9 with a big smile across her face and with all kinds of stories to tell.   So glad she got that time with her uncle -- even if I'm a little jealous of the delicious dinner she had at Adele's!
