2 Reasons to Celebrate . . .

Today we wrapped up the Championship Swim Meet with the 9-10 year old session this afternoon.  Hooray!   Matthew competed yesterday afternoon.  I fulfilled by volunteer commitment last night at the 6 and under session and we were back today for Gracie.   It was hot outside, it was hot inside . . . so nowhere better to be than walking in and out between outside and an indoor pool!  *voice dripping with sarcasm/body dripping with sweat*

Matt and Gracie did great, both getting some new personal bests.  Matthew's medley relay even got 2nd place in our division for the county, which was his highest finish ever.   Super exciting!
I'm actually sad to see the season come to an end.  Gracie is especially bummed as there is a great little posse of girls on the 9-10 team that she has had a ball with.  They named themselves the "mini muffins" (long story--our team does this funny muffin cheer before meets, so the girls decided they would be the mini muffins.  Besides, who doesn't like mini muffins?)  They even gave themselves matching mini muffin "tats" before today's meet!
I swear, it'll be days before all the sharpie marker is off her body.

The second reason to celebrate is today is the 6 year celebration of Charlie's "Gotcha Day" or his 11th(ish) birthday!   Old Chuck has come a long way in the last 6 years so glad he is part of our family!
Incidentally, Charlie's "birthday" coincides with my one of my bestie's birthdays.  Happy Birthday, HO (that's my friend Heather, for those of you not in the know!)!
